Community & Neighborhood Plans

Planning staff has embarked on updating several of our neighborhood plans, with work already underway for two major plans, plus our citywide land use plan, Billings2045.

West End Plan - The update to the West End Neighborhood Plan is progressing on schedule. The team conducted a public open house in March that was very well attended. In addition, two surveys were distributed to the area for input on details from the 2001 plan as well as thoughts for the future of the area. The Sanderson Stewart consulting team are currently reviewing transportation and land use within the plan area with an ultimate goal of developing a future land use map and a neighborhood plan that will help identify the future land use goals of the area.

Heights Plan - The Heights Neighborhood Plan was first completed in 2006, since then, numerous major transportation infrastructure projects have been completed and the area has seen significant growth and development. The update to the plan was initiated in August.

Billings2045 - The City is creating a new 20-year land use plan for Billings. This will help shape how our neighborhoods grow, how we plan for housing and transportation, and how the community's vision is reflected in future development.
