The Mayor's World Languages Dinner returns for its third year, once again uniting the diverse cultures that define Montana’s largest city. Hosted by Mayor Bill Cole and Anne Cole, this annual gathering has become a cornerstone of our community, showcasing the richness of our cultural DNA and welcoming spirit.
In celebration of the unique contributions each culture brings to Billings, this year's dinner highlights over 60 languages spoken by area residents who hail from dozens of countries and tribal nations all around the globe. "Our event has no political agenda; it's about celebrating our friends and neighbors from all cultures, coming together to build connections and foster understanding," Mayor Cole emphasized.
Augmenting generous support received from local sponsors and volunteers, this year's event is further elevated by a significant grant awarded to Montana State University Billings’ International Studies Program. According to Dr. Paul Milan Foster, Executive Director of the Office of International Studies at MSU Billings, “With this grant, we hope to further enhance cultural exchange programs in the region through supporting events like the Mayor’s World Languages Dinner.”
With great anticipation, this year’s special guests include US Ambassador to Slovakia, Ambassador Gautam Rana, who will address the attendees, and the talented musicians of "Jozef Luptak and Friends" whose performance will be sure to captivate and inspire. Also new to this year’s event are cultural artifacts and exhibits that will be on display.
The event is already sold out, but interested parties are encouraged to follow the event's Facebook page for updates.
