Jury Summons

Welcome! Billings Municipal Court is excited to begin the 2025-2026 jury term. Pursuant to § 3-15-402 M.C.A., you have been selected to be a member of the Billings Municipal Court jury pool from September 1, 2025, through August 31, 2026. Jury duty is paramount to the American System of Justice. Without individuals like you who are willing to serve, this great system would cease to function.

Municipal Court holds its jury trials Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday every 4 weeks. Jurors are selected randomly as required by state law. If you are selected as a juror for a given date, you will receive a letter in the mail advising the date, time and panel that you are to report for duty. Please note that each trial usually only lasts a single day.

If you have been randomly selected to serve as a juror in Billings Municipal Court, please park in Parking Garage 3 and report to the 2nd floor of New City Hall located at 316 N. 26th St.

Please call (406) 247-8653 after 5:00 o'clock p.m. the night before the trial or check the City of Billings website before the date you are scheduled to appear. The recorded phone message and information on the City of Billings Jury Trial Status Website will contain any additional information or instructions regarding last minute changes in scheduling.

If you are requesting excusal, please fill out the form on the back of your jury summons or use the form found HERE and return it to the court by 5pm, 7 days before the trial you were summoned for.
