Learning how to utilize your local transit system has never been easier. You can now plan your trip using Google Maps. Enter your starting point and where you would like to go and Google Maps will tell you how far to walk to your nearest bus stop, which route to ride, and where to get off the bus. Google Maps takes the guesswork out of the equation for first time riders or experienced riders traveling to new places.
This feature is available on the Google Maps mobile device app and website. Here’s what you need to do:
- Enter your destination.
- Click directions.
- Select the bus Icon.
- Enter your starting point.
- You can choose travel directions and times based upon “leave now, depart at, arrive by, or last available”.
- Select options to customize your travel based on “best route, fewer transfers, or less walking” and select the option that works for you.
- Ride!
Want to know if the bus is delayed or on time? After you enter where you want to go it will let you know the current status of the bus, whether delayed or on time. See a bus stop on Google Maps? Click on it to see the stop ID and what routes service that stop.
Buses operate Monday through Friday from 5:45 a.m. to 8:15 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. MET Transit is a convenient way to commute with more than 450 bus stops all around Billings. All buses are wheelchair accessible and equipped with bike racks.
