The following is a press release from the Billings Airservice Committee
The City of Billings, Billings Logan International Airport (BIL), in partnership with Visit Billings, the Billings Chamber of Commerce, and Big Sky Economic Development is thrilled to announce Alaska Airline’s extension of direct service to Portland (PDX) through the end of the year. This exciting news comes after a series of announcements from BIL and their community partners about increased air service opportunities for Billings and our region.
Alaska Airlines, a Seattle-based carrier, announced this week that they are extending nonstop seasonal flying to and from Billings and Portland through the end of the year. Previously, this service was only offered through a portion of the year.
Jeff Roach, Director of Aviation and Transit, Billings Logan International Airport, said, “At BIL we celebrate the expanded air service announced by our existing airline partner. This addition demonstrates confidence in the travel demand spurred by airport infrastructure investment, as well as, continuing economic development and increasing tourism activity in Billings and the surrounding region.”
This increased service will provide our top industries with opportunities to connect with the Pacific Northwest. As a hub for education, this service will offer students and their loved ones more opportunity for convenient travel to and from Billings. Leisure travelers will have an extended season to enjoy all the recreation opportunities that our region has to offer.
“The Billings Air Service Committee, comprised of the Billings Chamber of Commerce, Visit Billings, Big Sky Economic Development, along with business and community leaders, are dedicated to supporting BIL and their exemplary efforts to increase air service opportunities for Billings. Our entire community benefits from more opportunities to travel for tourism, business, and visiting loved ones. We value this most recent investment and look forward to a strong, continued partnership in the future.”
Tickets for this new flight service are now available for purchase through Alaska Airline’s website and mobile app.
