Station Eight

760 Lake Elmo Drive

Station 8 returned to its original purpose of serving as a fire station in May of 2024. During the prior three decades, the building housed an electrical equipment business. Due to the city's growth and dense population in the Heights, a 2021 analysis of the Billings Fire Department recommended a second fire station open in that area of Billings. When the City began searching for an ideal location, the building was on the market. After several months of renovations, 760 Lake Elmo Drive was once again equipped to serve as a fire station. A Medical Response Team operates out of Station 8, allowing quick response times to neighborhoods in the Heights and Downtown. The fire department plans to add more resources over time.

Following Billings' annexation of the Heights, the Lake Elmo fire station pictured began serving areas of the Heights. Less than a decade after its construction, the station was replaced by the current Station Six on St. Andrews Drive. Prior to annexation, the private O'Donnell Fire Service operated in the Heights.
