Oversees coordination, staffing, and operational functions of the Fire Prevention Bureau including:
- Fire code enforcement
- Public education
- Fire investigations
- Building inspections
- Plans review for subdivisions, site developments, new construction and fire protection systems
Additional Responsibilities
- Enforces adopted fire codes, ordinances and standards
- Conducts technical plan review for subdivision development to address Fire Department concerns
- Meets with citizen groups, organizations, contractors, architects, engineers and developers, as requested
- Develops and implements goals, objectives, policies and priorities for the Fire Prevention Bureau
- Directs and coordinates the work plan for the Fire Prevention Bureau
- Maintains records related to:
- Fire losses
- Inspections
- Investigations
- Fire deaths and injuries
- Identifies resource and training needs for Fire Prevention Bureau personnel
