The Billings Chamber of Commerce will host its first Coffee with Candidates forum on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 from 8-9 a.m. in partnership with, and hosted at, the Billings Association of Realtors (2021 Overland Ave) with three Ward 3 candidates in attendance.
Ward 3 candidates include incumbent Councilman Danny Choriki, Bill Kennedy, and Charlie Loveridge. This ward will have a primary election on September 12 to determine which two candidates will advance to the general election.
“Public safety, housing supply, water rates, and property taxes all fall to our City Council members. Their decisions have major impacts on residents and our Billings businesses,” said Jack Jennaway, business advocacy coordinator. “As a champion for business and quality of life, the Billings Chamber is excited to give the public an opportunity to meet candidates face to face.”
Each Coffee with Candidates forum will feature a moderated question-and-answer segment with time reserved for questions from the audience. This is the first in a series of open forums that will be held from August through September, ahead of City Council elections.
Both the primary and general elections will feature all-mail voting and polling places will not be open. Primary election ballots will be mailed on August 23 with general election ballots following on October 18.
Each Coffee with Candidates forum is free to attend and open to anyone interested in meeting the City Council candidates running this election cycle. Billings Association of Realtors is located at 2021 Overland Avenue. Residents can find out which ward they live in here and who is running from their ward here. RSVPs are requested for planning purposes as complimentary coffee and light breakfast items will be available. Register on the Billings Chamber of Commerce website.
